Come November, every K-pop fan’s calendar starts filling up. Year-end award shows and broadcasters’ holiday stages run almost every week from early November right through December 31. Your favorite group shares a stage with everyone else, and the special performances and collabs you only ever see at award shows come pouring out. So the question a lot of fans actually ask is: “If I time my Seoul trip for this season, can I see it in person?”

Short version: this November, two award shows land at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome on back-to-back weekends. That said, some events like MAMA are held entirely overseas, and domestic Korean ticketing is a high bar for foreigners. This guide is based on official schedules announced up to October 7, 2026, and covers which show is where, and which route foreigners should use to actually land a ticket.

The short answer

  • Confirmed for Seoul and the capital area: KGMA Nov 7–8, MMA Nov 14–15 (both at Gocheok Sky Dome) and SBS Gayo Daejeon Dec 24–25 (KINTEX, Goyang).
  • Held overseas: MAMA Nov 20–21 in Osaka, AAA Dec 5–6 in Kaohsiung (sold out), Golden Disc Awards Jan 9–10, 2027 in Hanoi. KBS and MBC year-end stages are not announced yet.
  • For foreigners, an official foreigner-only package (ticket + shuttle) is the surest bet. Marked-up resale has been fully banned since August 28, 2026, so steer clear of resale tickets.

When and where are the 2026 year-end K-pop award shows?

Three are confirmed for Seoul and the capital area: KGMA, MMA and SBS Gayo Daejeon. What stands out is that all three now run two days in a row. MMA goes two-day for the first time ever, and SBS Gayo Daejeon, marking its 30th anniversary, spreads across Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for the first time too. Miss one day and there’s still the next, which actually makes planning a trip easier.

Worth knowing: a few shows that used to happen at year’s end have moved. The Seoul Music Awards are now in June (June 20, 2026, Inspire Arena, Incheon), The Fact Music Awards in September (September 19, 2026, Busan), and the Hanteo Music Awards were held in February (February 15, 2026, KSPO DOME, Seoul). If those names pop up when you search “year-end award shows,” they’re not on this winter’s calendar, so don’t get tripped up.

How do I see KGMA 2026?

It’s on Nov 7–8 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, and foreigners can buy a dedicated package right now. Hosted by Ilgan Sports, KGMA is in its third year and moved to Seoul from last year’s venue, Inspire Arena in Incheon, for better access (Soompi). Nov 7 is “Artist Day” with 20 acts, Nov 8 is “Music Day” with another 20, and there’s a new “KGMA Star Road” where only in-venue audiences get a close look at the artists’ entrance route (Ilgan Sports).

Domestic tickets opened exclusively on NOL at 6 PM on October 2, citing server stability. If you’re a foreigner, the realistic option is the foreigner-only package linked with the organizer. Here’s the lineup according to Seoul Travel Pass’s sales page.

B Floor+₩370,000
C Floor+₩310,000
V Floor+₩240,000

The package includes a vehicle that leaves Donghwa Duty Free (Gwanghwamun) at 13:00 and arrives at Gocheok Sky Dome at 14:00, plus return transport after the show. Only the foreign purchaser can enter, a physical passport is a must, and you need to cancel by noon (Korea time) 21 days before the show date for a full refund. For the November 7 show, that deadline is 12 PM on October 17. Trazy also sells an A-section package.

When do Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2026 tickets go on sale?

Gocheok Sky Dome on Nov 14–15 is confirmed, but as of October 7 the ticketing schedule and prices haven’t been announced. Hosted by Kakao Entertainment, MMA runs over two days for the first time this year under the slogan “K-POP CONNECT: The New Pulse.” Organizers say a “Global K Chart” combining data from Korea, China and Japan will factor into judging for some categories (Star News, Seoul Economic Daily).

Last year’s setup gives you a good idea. The 2025 MMA (December 20, Gocheok Sky Dome) sold through Melon Ticket: the first round was for top-tier members who’d held a Melon subscription for over a year, the second round for all subscribers, with a limit of two tickets per ID (Smart Today report). In effect it was a sale for Korean Melon paying members, so for foreigners the realistic route was the foreigner-only package Trazy sold as MMA’s official vendor (a Floor C ticket plus COEX Aquarium admission). You picked it up at an on-site booth by showing your passport and booking confirmation, and children under 7 couldn’t enter.

Can foreigners attend SBS Gayo Daejeon 2026?

Going by last year, you couldn’t apply directly; the only way in was a foreigner-only package. The 2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon marks its 30th anniversary with two days, Dec 24–25, at KINTEX in Ilsan (Ilgan Sports, My Daily). The audience and ticket method hasn’t been announced yet.

In 2025 (December 25, Inspire Arena, Incheon), most of the audience came through a free audience lottery, and SBS’s official account said it was open to “Korean nationals aged 15 and over.” There was an extra lottery for members of title partner Bithumb and fan club routes through the agencies, but all of it centered on domestic fans. Foreigners had Trazy’s foreigner-only floor standing + shuttle package, with the shuttle leaving from Hongik University Station Exit 3. A passport (with matching name) was required, and anyone under 15 couldn’t enter even with a guardian. This year will likely follow a similar setup, so keep an eye on both SBS and the foreigner ticket vendors’ notices from November onward.

Good news on access: KINTEX is close to GTX-A KINTEX Station, which connects from Seoul Station, so it’s much easier to reach than it used to be.

Why aren’t MAMA, AAA and the Golden Disc Awards held in Seoul?

All three have been held overseas for several years running. Staging them as big stadium shows in Asian cities with large overseas fanbases has become the trend.

🇹🇼
AAA — Kaohsiung
Dec 5–6 at Kaohsiung National Stadium. In the September 19 general sale on Tixcraft, 100,000 seats across both days sold out in 10 minutes (Star News).
🇻🇳
Golden Disc Awards — Hanoi

To fit any of these into a Seoul trip, you’ll need a separate flight. If you want to shop for albums and merch while you’re in Seoul, check out our Seoul K-pop album and merch shopping guide.

How do you get into the KBS and MBC year-end stages?

Most audience spots go through agency fan clubs, so it’s tough for an individual foreigner to get in. In 2025, the KBS Song Festival was held December 19 at Songdo Convensia in Incheon, and MBC Gayo Daejejeon on December 31 in the public hall at MBC Dream Center in Ilsan. For MBC Gayo Daejejeon, “pre-recording and live broadcast participation notices” went out to several groups’ official fan clubs; no general sale or lottery for foreigners was confirmed. Neither broadcaster has announced its 2026 schedule yet.

If the award shows are out of reach, weekly music shows can be an alternative. M Countdown, Inkigayo and Music Bank also take most of their audiences through fan clubs, but for SBS’s “The Show,” Trazy has been selling a foreigner-only ticket + half-day Seoul tour package (Tuesday evenings, SBS Prism Tower in Sangam-dong). Where should foreigners buy K-pop award show tickets?

Foreigner-only vendors designated by the organizer come first; Korean ticketing sites come second. Korean ticketing sites default to mobile phone identity verification, so foreigners often get stuck at checkout. More sites have been adding passport verification to fix this lately, but it doesn’t apply to every event yet.

Checklist to avoid being turned away at the door

  • Bring your physical passport. Almost every foreigner package requires the original passport to match the booking name; if it doesn't, you get neither entry nor a refund.
  • Check age limits. The 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon package didn't admit anyone under 15, and the MMA package anyone under 7.
  • The refund deadline comes sooner than you'd think. KGMA packages are fully refundable only until noon 21 days before the show.
  • If Korean app verification is blocking you, read our fix for identity verification as a foreigner first; if you need a local number, start with our eSIM and SIM comparison.

Is it OK to buy resale tickets?

From this year on, it’s especially risky. Since August 28, 2026, when the amended Performance Act and National Sports Promotion Act took effect, reselling tickets at a markup has been fully banned, whether or not a macro was used (Korea Times). This year-end award season is the first one under the new law.

Anti-scalping rules in force from August 28, 2026: Marked-up resale draws fines of 2 to 50 times the resale price depending on the size of the deal, and illicit gains are confiscated. Ticketing sites and secondhand-trading platforms must verify users' identities and offer a reporting function, or face fines of up to ₩5,000,000. The exception: nonprofit fan-to-fan transfers at face value are exempt.

Even before this law, since March 2024, selling macro-bought tickets at a markup was punishable by up to 1 year in prison or a fine of up to ₩10,000,000. Above all, award show venues often check ID against the booking name, so with a resale ticket bought under someone else’s name you can pay full price and still be turned around at the gate.

How do I get to Gocheok Sky Dome and KINTEX?

Gocheok Sky Dome is a 3-minute walk from Exit 2 of Guil Station on Subway Line 1. According to the official Seoul Facilities Corporation directions, it’s 15 minutes from Gaebong Station Exit 2 and 20 minutes from Guro Station Exit 1. Guil Station gets slammed after shows, so following the official advice, walking to Guro Station for central Seoul, Suwon and Anyang, or to Gaebong Station for Incheon and Bucheon, can be quicker.

Pick your accommodation based on your route home rather than the venue. Shows usually end late at night, and tens of thousands of people leave at once. How cold is Seoul in November and December?

This year's Seoul-area award shows are all held indoors, but most of the waiting for entry, waiting for shuttles and queuing for merch happens outside. According to Korea Meteorological Administration climate normals (1991–2020), Seoul's first snow falls around November 20 on average, and January's average temperature is −1.9°C. If you're heading to KINTEX in late December, treat a long padded coat and hand warmers as essential. For how to dress like a local, see our guide to shopping for Korean long padding and winter clothes.

How should I plan a Seoul trip around award show season?

It’d be a shame to fly in for just one show. KGMA is on the second weekend of November and MMA follows at Gocheok the third weekend, so a 9-day trip from November 7 to 15 lets you try for both. If you’re coming at Christmas, you can pair SBS Gayo Daejeon with Seoul’s year-end atmosphere.
