By transit, getting around Pocheon is the real bottleneck
The intercity bus from Dong Seoul Terminal into Pocheon itself runs 25 times a day (06:00–20:00), but once you're in town, bus 73 connecting Art Valley and Herb Island only comes every 130 minutes on weekdays and 150 on weekends. You can end up waiting for a city bus longer than the ride in took.
Hanam — the Only City You Reach With Zero Transfers
From Gwanghwamun on Line 5, you ride all the way to Hanam Geomdansan Station with no transfer — the only one of the six cities you can reach on a single line. When you arrive, Starfield Hanam, a water-park-style spa, and an indoor animal theme park all sit within walking distance.

Goyang — the New Town GTX-A Reaches in 17 Minutes
From Seoul Station, GTX-A gets you to KINTEX Station in 17 minutes. One catch: GTX platforms sit deep underground, so budget an extra 3–5 minutes just to get down from the gates. KINTEX, Starfield Goyang, and Ilsan Lake Park all sit inside the Ilsan new town, which makes them an easy one-day loop.
If you’re planning an aquarium stop, the Ilsan Aqua Planet ticket covers the same area. And the Aquafield combined ticket, valid at Hanam, Goyang, and Anseong, is handy because it works at whichever branch you like.
Suwon — Beyond Hwaseong Haenggung, What Else Is There?

From Seoul Station on Subway Line 1, it’s 25–40 minutes on an express train and up to about 50 on a local. Starfield Suwon and Gwanggyo Lake Park sit near Hwaseong Haenggung, so you can pair the fortress with shopping in a single day.

Hwaseong Haenggung admission is just ₩2,000 for adults, so a DIY visit costs about the same for the fortress alone. The tour only pays off when you want to tack Starfield on. As of August 2026.
Paju — the DMZ and the Outlets Sit in the Same Direction
From Hapjeong Station, bus 2200 gets you to Heyri Art Valley in about 45 minutes to 1 hour, and to Paju Premium Outlets in about 1 hour. They sit along the same route, so combining the two in a day is easy. For the DMZ side, take the Gyeongui–Jungang Line to Munsan Station, then transfer to bus 93-9 or 058 toward Imjingak — but restricted military zones (like the Third Tunnel) are closed to individuals, so you’ll need a tour for those.

Yongin — a City Where Theme Parks Are the Whole Point
For Yongin, the theme parks basically are the destination: Everland, Caribbean Bay, and the Korean Folk Village. A new direct bus, 4105, started running from Seoul Station in July 2026, cutting the trip to about 1 hour with no transfers. Before that, you had to change from the Bundang Line to the EverLine at Giheung Station, which took 1 hour 40–50 minutes. Everland and Caribbean Bay share the same grounds and are linked by a free shuttle.
Everland Day Pass + Round-Trip Shuttle
Book the admission and the Seoul round-trip shuttle in one go. Outside the 4105's operating hours, the shuttle is basically the only transfer-free option.
If you can time it to the 4105 bus schedule, buying just the ticket and skipping the shuttle is cheaper. Prices and availability as of August 2026.
If water fun is the goal, you can grab a Caribbean Bay ticket separately. To tack on the Korean Folk Village in the same day, the Hwadam Forest, Gwangmyeong Cave & Korean Folk Village day tour loops all three — but they sit in different directions, so expect long transfer times.

Pocheon leans into nature and healing — Art Valley, Herb Island — but it’s the hardest of the six to reach by public transit. The intercity bus from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal takes 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes, and once you arrive, bus 73 between Art Valley and Herb Island runs every 130 minutes on weekdays and 150 on weekends.
