On the other hand, mid-mountain venues like the Saebyeol Oreum ATV track are on long bus intervals, so a rental car or taxi is effectively required.

Practical tip: reaching mid-mountain spots without a rental car
If you want to squeeze hard-to-reach places like Saebyeol Oreum or O'Sulloc into a single day, a private tour or taxi tour settled by the half-day or full-day is simpler to budget than hopping between taxis. And sending your luggage between the airport and your accommodation first is especially worthwhile when you're traveling without a car.

Skip the driving and let a driver-guide take you around in the order you want. When bundling mid-mountain and western spots with sparse buses into one day, the pricing is simpler than stringing together separate taxis.

Background: what's fine to buy on the day
Aqua Planet Jeju runs a separate discount ticket for foreigners (FIT), but booking isn't mandatory. The Figure Museum and hanbok rental are also usually available as same-day walk-ins. That said, weekend peak-season waits can stretch, so if you want to save time, reserving a time slot in advance is a realistic middle ground.

Practical tip: scuba diving cancellation rules vary by operator
Many operators I found during research use a stepped policy along the lines of "free cancellation up to 4 days out, then 20–50% deducted per day closer, and no refunds on the day." Others were looser — full refund up to 7 days before travel, 50% off up to 3 days. Always check the operator's own cancellation terms before you book.
