If the view is the point — Signiel vs Park Hyatt
Straight answer: height goes to Signiel, mood to Park Hyatt. Signiel’s 85th-floor pool is in a height class of its own, and its long 06:00~22:00 hours let you catch sunrise or the night skyline. Park Hyatt’s Park Club pool is a top-floor glass box with an infinity feel, but at 1.2m deep it’s less for swimming laps than for soaking while you watch the Gangnam skyline.
Timing the view pools
View pools get crowded in the afternoon. Right after opening (6–8 a.m.) is the quietest, with good light toward the sunrise. For the night view, just after sunset (19:00–21:00, season-dependent) beats the last hour before close — many pools start tidying up right before closing.
If a summer outdoor pool is the point — Grand Hyatt vs Banyan Tree
Straight answer: for families and actual swimming, Grand Hyatt; for adults and a resort vibe, Banyan Tree. Grand Hyatt’s outdoor pool sits on a hillside at the foot of Namsan, giving it more open air than most downtown pools, and it opened in late May–early June in recent seasons. Banyan Tree’s Oasis is a resort-style pool built around pool parties and sunbeds — a very different energy, and one where outside demand runs high enough that 2026 pool-party tickets sold from ₩80,000.
In winter, Grand Hyatt becomes the only answer. The outdoor pool site turns into an ice rink from early December to early March (2025–26 season: December 5, 2025–March 2, 2026; weekdays 12:00–21:00, weekends 10:00–21:00) — and at 63m × 17m, it’s the largest among hotel rinks. Consider this your warning against booking a “hotel with a pool” in winter and expecting an outdoor swim.

It sits right next to Lotte World in Jamsil, which pairs well with a kids’ itinerary, and an indoor pool doesn’t care what season it is. If you’re on a Gangnam COEX schedule, Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas (mid-USD 400s) is the indoor-pool option.
