Search for a Seoul night tour and the city tour bus is the first thing that pops up. But a bus only shows you the city through a window. If you want to walk the alleys and the old fortress walls on foot, you need different information: how many hours you’ll spend, where you meet, how many stairs are involved — and what it actually costs per hour.
This piece focuses only on night walking tours and guided night-view tours, checking the schedules and meeting points listed on each product page as of August 2026. I’ve also built a three-hour evening itinerary that lines up the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain show times with the palace entry cut-off. Why total walking distance isn't in the table
None of the five products lists a total walking distance in kilometres on its product page. Rather than quote an unverified figure, I've noted the walking share and whether there are stairs instead. The Naksan Fortress Wall course's product page explicitly says it isn't suitable for people with mobility issues, and that there are stairs along the way.
Which one is cheaper per hour?
On hourly rate alone, the five-hour combo course is the cheapest, the walking tour comes next, and the Deoksugung-to-N Seoul Tower route is the priciest. Prices below are the listed USD figures from August 2026 product pages, converted at ₩1,400 to the US dollar.

To sum up: if you only have one evening slot free, the two-hour walking tour is the right fit. If you've cleared a whole evening and want to sort out dinner at Gwangjang Market too, the five-hour course wins decisively on hourly rate. The palace-to-tower course sits around ₩50,000 an hour, and reviews themselves say it tries to cram too much into one evening — you may be better off just buying an N Seoul Tower ticket separately.
Lock in the two-hour walk up to the fortress wall at night
Departure times shift with the season: from mid-August to early September it leaves at 18:00, and from mid-October onward at 16:30, timed to sunset. Duration is fixed at two hours.
The commentary runs in English only and there are stairs along the route. If you need Korean commentary or have bad knees, you're better off skipping this one. Listed price as of August 2026.
The five-hour course that ties Gwangjang Market and the Hangang into one evening
It packs in an hour at Gwangjang Market, a 30-minute Hangang cruise and an hour at a viewpoint, with admission included. At roughly ₩15,200 an hour, it's the cheapest of the products compared here.
Meals aren't included, and it doesn't wrap until 22:05, so you can't tack on anything afterward. If you need to be back at your accommodation before 21:00, this isn't the one. Listed price as of August 2026.
If you’d rather spend far less of the same evening, there’s also the palace-to-tower course, but the same page lists a recommended duration of 4~5 hours, which contradicts the listed schedule. It’s safer to ask about the actual end time before booking.
If I have three evening hours, what’s the best order?
For people who want to do it themselves without buying a tour, I built a route using only confirmed official operating times. There are two hard constraints: palace last entry is at 20:00, and the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain’s first show is 19:30 or 20:00 depending on the day.

Three conditions that break this course
- Mondays — both Deoksugung and Changgyeonggung are closed. Drop the palace and keep only the Hangang stretch.
- Mon–Thu — the fountain's first show is at 20:00. Palace last entry is also 20:00, so fitting both into one evening leaves you with under 20 minutes of palace time. On these days, skip the palace and spend the time at Sevit Island instead.
- Rain or high wind — the fountain stops if rain is forecast during show hours or the wind exceeds 7 m/s. It also shuts down if Hangang turbidity passes 15 NTU.

If Korean works for you, those four numbers alone fill a three-hour evening. Changgyeonggung is open until 21:00 year-round with no separate night season, and you can buy a ticket on the spot. Add the subway fare and your total spend comes to a small fraction of a single tour ticket.
There are cheaper paid alternatives too. The night-view city tour bus was listed at US$17.49 in August 2026 — about half the walking tour — and the Hangang night cruise is listed at US$16.59 for up to three hours, working out to about ₩7,700 an hour. If guided commentary isn’t the point, these are the sensible choice.
A two-hour walking tour through Gyeongbokgung with commentary
Runs Wednesday to Sunday 09:30~11:30, meeting at 09:20 at Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 5, on the steps in front of the National Palace Museum of Korea. Groups are capped at 10 people.
This is a morning-only product, not an evening one. It's cancelled two days before departure if fewer than two people sign up, and the commentary is English-only. If all you need is an evening itinerary, there's no reason to buy it. As of August 2026.
A private course that drives you between three Seoul night-view spots
Covers Naksan Park, Eungbongsan Palgakjeong and Yongyangbong Peak. Listed at US$34.99 in August 2026 — close to the walking tour's price — and marked as a private tour.
Duration isn't listed on the page, which is risky if your evening is tightly planned. Naksan Park is walkable anyway, so if you only want one of the three spots there's no need to book. As of August 2026.
Palace evening visits: when and how much?
It’s a mix of year-round venues and seasonal programs. Year-round evening entry needs no reservation; events like the Starlight Tour require advance booking.

Three things to check before you book
- Cancellation policy — it differs by product. The five-hour combo course allows free cancellation up to 24 hours before, the palace-to-tower course up to 48 hours before, and the Gyeongbokgung walking tour up to four days before.
- Minimum group size — the Gyeongbokgung walking tour is cancelled with two days' notice if fewer than two people sign up.
- Rain policy — on courses that include the Hangang, if the boat can't run, an alternative route through Changgyeonggung, Gwangjang Market, Naksan Park and Cheonggyecheon kicks in. The Gyeongbokgung walking tour, by contrast, runs rain or shine and doesn't refund for weather.
