- Measured by cost per meter, Seoul Sky is the cheapest at ₩66/m. The ticket looks expensive, but it's actually the best value. Seoul Dal, at ₩192/m, is the priciest of the five.
- N Seoul Tower: ₩29,000 for the ticket + ₩15,000 for the cable car round trip = ₩44,000 is what you'll actually spend. The hidden line item flips the rankings.
Seoul observation deck articles are everywhere online, but most of them skip three things. They don’t put height next to price, they don’t tell you which direction you’ll actually be looking, and instead of giving you a real entry time they just say “around sunset” — as if that means the same thing in June and December.
This article covers exactly those three. Prices and hours were verified directly from each venue’s official page on August 4, 2026. Sunset times were calculated from scratch using Seoul’s coordinates (37.5665°N, 126.9780°E).

One caveat: each deck measures height differently. Seoul Sky uses height above ground, N Seoul Tower uses elevation above sea level (Namsan at 243m + the observatory level inside the tower), 63 SkyPicnic sits roughly 250m above the Han River surface, Seoul Dal is a 130m vertical flight above ground, and Haneul Park is a 98m hill above sea level. The per-meter cost simply divides each venue’s regular adult fare by the number they claim as their height. It’s a reference point, not an absolute comparison.
Costs the ticket price doesn't show
- N Seoul Tower — Namsan cable car round trip is ₩15,000 (one-way ₩12,000). You can hike up or take the Namsan circular bus to cut this to ₩0–1,500, but most people take the cable car.
- Haneul Park — Entry is free, but there are 291 stairs to the top. The Maengkkongi Electric Tram (₩3,000 round trip, ₩2,000 one-way) saves your legs.
- Seoul Dal — The flight itself is 15 minutes, but with the safety briefing, budget about 30 minutes total. Bags, drinks, and strollers aren't allowed on board, so if you've got stuff with you, plan accordingly.
What You'll Actually See: Han River or Downtown
Direction matters more than height. At 500m, the view behind you is still invisible. These five decks stand at five different points in Seoul — same city, five completely different pictures.
Here’s the shorthand. Want the Han River? 63 SkyPicnic. Want the downtown core? N Seoul Tower. Want to feel the sheer scale of it all? Seoul Sky. Chasing the sunset itself? Haneul Park. Seoul Dal is less about the view and more about the experience — you’re paying to float, not to look.
What Time to Arrive to Catch Daylight, Sunset & the Night View
70 minutes before sunset. The math is simple. You’ll burn 20–30 minutes in the entry queue and elevator, another 20 minutes finding a window spot and dialing in your photo angle — and by then, the sky starts turning about 20 minutes before the sun actually dips. Show up right at sunset and you’ll watch the whole thing from the ticket line.
The problem is that Seoul’s sunset time swings by 2 hours and 40 minutes across the year. Late June the sun sets at 19:57. Early December it’s gone by 17:14. That’s why “go around sunset” is useless advice.

- June–July: Sunset hovers around 19:55, so you won’t wrap up the night view until past 21:00. 63 SkyPicnic (ticket sales close 21:30) and Seoul Dal (closes 22:00) are tight. N Seoul Tower (23:00 on weekends) and Seoul Sky (23:00 on Fri/Sat) give you breathing room.
- November–January: You can walk in during the 16:00 hour and catch daylight, sunset, and the night skyline in just 2 hours — the best bang for your buck all year. The catch: Seoul Dal opens at noon, so your daylight window is narrow.
Why Haneul Park's closing time changes every month
Haneul Park doesn't have a fixed closing time. To guarantee 2 hours of sunset and night viewing, they operate on a monthly sunset + 2 hours schedule and block entry to the summit 30 minutes before closing. The rightmost column in the table above is that calculation. December: 19:15. June: 21:55. Same park — two and a half hours of difference.
Discounts: How Low Can the Price Actually Go?

Seoul Sky’s card promos require a Korean credit card or telecom membership, so they’re a mirage for short-term visitors. What a traveler can actually use: the advance booking special (₩31,500) and the student discount (₩24,500, student ID required).

Seoul Dal — Yeouido Park. A tethered helium balloon by France’s Aérophile, not a hot air balloon: it rises and descends vertically on a cable. Weather cancellations are common, so check conditions the day of.
Haneul Park — One of five World Cup Parks. A 98m artificial hill built on a landfill capped between 1978 and 1993. Famous for its silver grass fields, which draw huge crowds during the October Silver Grass Festival.
