The short answer

  • Basic pub crawls ran ₩24,700–32,500 in August 2026; split across the 4 included drinks, that's roughly ₩6,200–8,100 a glass.
  • Hongdae crawls hand out wristbands from 20:30–21:40 and run 4 hours 30 minutes, so you'll finish around 1:30 AM.
  • You must be 19 or older (international age) with an original photo ID showing your birth date — copies won't cut it.

A pub crawl doesn’t sell you alcohol — it sells you a route. A guide rounds up a group, walks you through a handful of bars and one club in a fixed order, hands you a set number of drinks at each stop, and walks you straight past the line at the final club. That makes it a very different decision from picking a club on your own, or from booking-based nightlife in general.

So this article compares pub-crawl products only. I divided each price by the drinks included to find the real cost per glass, then lined up venue counts, meeting times, total duration, and minimum ages in tables. Where a price wasn’t published, I left it as “not stated” rather than inventing a number.

What Does a Pub Crawl Cost Per Drink?

Divide by the drinks included and you land in the ₩6,000–8,000 range per glass. That number is your baseline for comparing against going it alone.

How we calculated — and the limits

Dollar prices were converted at 1 USD = ₩1,400, and displayed prices shift with the date and options you pick. Basic B's "4 drinks, 3 bars + 1 club" comes from KKday's Hongdae pub crawl listing, while its price is from the matching Klook product — I can't guarantee the two channels bundle exactly the same options. Basic A doesn't state how many drinks are included, but reviews mention a welcome drink at each stop, so I assumed 4.

The comparison is simple: pull up the menu at the Hongdae or Itaewon spot you were going to hit anyway and check whether a shot or cocktail costs more than ₩6,200. If it does, the pub crawl is already cheaper for the same 4 drinks — and the final club's cover charge is bundled in on top. If you only plan to drink soju or bottled beer, the crawl can actually work out pricier. Per-venue prices swing too much for me to pin down one number here.

🍻 When you want the drink count and club entry rules in hard numbers

Hit 3 bars and 1 club in Hongdae, in a set order

The listing states 4 drinks included, an hour at each bar, free entry to the final club, and queue-skip. It runs 4 hours 30 minutes in total, and groups are advertised at 40–60 people.

Cancellation fees: 15% up to 7 days out, 50% at 3–6 days out, and no refunds from 2 days before. If your plans are still moving, hold off on booking. No-shows and late arrivals are not refundable. Checked August 2026.

🗓️ When only one night of your trip lines up

A crawl that splits between Hongdae and Itaewon by day of the week

It runs in Itaewon on Fridays and in Hongdae on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with 4+ venues listed. In August 2026 it was US$17.65–18.60 (about ₩24,700–26,000), with 5,000 bookings and 267 reviews shown.

Groups run 50+ per session, so skip it if you want a quiet night. Thursdays and Sundays are listed as relatively smaller. Checked August 2026.

Which Pub Crawl Should You Pick?

What actually makes or breaks the night isn’t the venue count — it’s the meeting time and the age rules. Here’s everything that’s confirmed, side by side.

All those blank cells are the category being honest. Only a minority of products actually publish drink counts and meeting times up front — the rest tell you after your booking is confirmed. So if your schedule is tight, pick a product that states its meeting time.

🥂 When buying by the glass feels like a hassle

A premium option that stakes out a table by the bottle

At US$93.15 (about ₩130,400) in August 2026, it's 4–5× the basic option. Duration is a similar 3–5 hours, so the price gap isn't about time — it's about the bottle service and the seat.

Drinks are sold by the bottle, so the per-drink math doesn't apply. If you want to control how much you drink, the basic option fits better. Checked August 2026.

🔤 When the point is meeting people in an English-run group

Start with the basic crawl that has the most reviews

In August 2026 it ranged US$21.19–23.19 (about ₩29,700–32,500), with 324 reviews and 4,000 bookings listed. It comes with English-run groups, free cancellation, and instant confirmation.

If you already have people to go with in Hongdae or Itaewon, there's no reason to buy a group product. What you're paying for here isn't the drinks — it's the structure that throws you together with strangers. Checked August 2026.

There are even formats where the alcohol is optional. This bowling-and-darts nightlife package was US$23.65 in August 2026 for 2 bowling games, shoe rental, 1 darts game, and 1 cocktail — and you can buy non-alcoholic drinks on the spot. If the goal isn’t drinking but the after-dark atmosphere, this is the one.

If you’d rather hop between pochas, there’s the midnight pocha crawl. If food and noraebang matter more than alcohol, there’s an after-work Korean barbecue and noraebang experience. Neither lists how many drinks are included, so I left both out of the per-drink math.

When Does It End — and How Do You Get Home?

It ends in the early hours. That’s the most practical variable in the whole pub-crawl equation.

20:30–21:40

Wristband & drink coupon pickup

4 h 30 min

Total Hongdae crawl duration

around 1:30 AM

End time for a 21:00 start (our calculation)

1 hour

Time spent at each venue

Leave at 21:00 and four and a half hours later it’s 1:30 AM. The subway is long done, and the listings themselves tell you to take a taxi or night bus once service stops. If your hotel is far from Hongdae or Itaewon, sort out how you’re getting back before you book.

Conditions to check before you book

  • Your ID must be the original, showing your photo and date of birth — copies won't be accepted. Proof that you're 19 or older (international age) is mandatory.
  • Staff can refuse to serve more drinks if they can't verify your ID. Bring your passport or a physical ID.
  • There's a dress code. Backpacks and large bags, sportswear, sneakers or hiking shoes, flip-flops, and men's sandals and tank tops can get you turned away.
  • Venues or the guide can refuse entry or ask you to leave if you're judged too intoxicated. It's perfectly normal to finish your included drinks and call it a night.
  • The products are marked as not recommended for pregnant guests, with a note that most clubs allow smoking.
  • Miss the meeting time and there's no refund — even getting lost isn't listed as a refund reason.

When Should You Skip the Pub Crawl?

In these cases, there's no reason to spend the money

  • You already have a crew — a big chunk of the fee pays for a guide to group you with strangers. With your own people, that's money wasted.
  • You know exactly where you want to go — if it's one specific bar or club, going direct is cheaper and saves time.
  • You won't drink all 4 — if you'll stop at two, your per-drink cost doubles and the whole calculation flips.
  • You have a morning plan tomorrow — a 1:30 AM finish plus the trip home makes a next-morning schedule basically impossible.
  • You don't drink — bowling, darts, and food-focused options sit in the same price range, so there's no need to buy a crawl.

So the cases where a pub crawl earns its keep are clear: you’re solo or a pair, you don’t know which spots to hit, and you intend to end the night at a club. Break any one of those three conditions and the same money buys you a better option.
