Even when a hotel and a residence price a night the same, a kitchen lets you cover breakfast and late-night snacks with a grocery run, and a washing machine means you simply pack less. What a serviced residence actually is
Seoul's residences grew out of demand from business travelers and expats on mid-to-long-term stays. That's why they cluster in office districts like Gwanghwamun, Euljiro and COEX — the standard form is hotel-style operations (front desk, security) layered onto apartment-style rooms. Use them for sightseeing and you're still generally close to the Gyeongbokgung–Myeongdong–Gangnam loop.

How to lock in a long-stay rate
Even for the same dates and the same room, the total can shift from channel to channel and rate plan to rate plan. For seven nights or more, check in this order:
- Plug all seven nights into the booking channel and look at the total — some properties apply stay-longer discounts or long-stay rates automatically.
- Read the cancellation policy before the price — the longer the booking, the bigger the risk of a non-refundable rate.
- Check housekeeping frequency and washing-machine location (in-room vs shared) on the booking page — even within one property these differ by room type.
- If you need breakfast, check whether it's charged separately — at residences, no breakfast is often the default.
Practical tip: if you're staying 30 days or more
