The short answer

  • Netflix’s official Korean monthly prices are ₩7,000 / ₩13,500 / ₩17,000 for the three listed plans.
  • Compare full recurring prices and overlapping benefits before buying a bundle or annual membership.
  • Every figure has a check date; services without readable current official prices are marked for checkout confirmation.

The expensive subscription is often the one already included in something else. A resident can pay for a streaming service directly, discover that a shopping membership includes a related benefit, then buy a bundle without checking how the first bill stops. Korea’s subscription economy makes more sense if you compare the billing relationship as carefully as the headline price. This guide separates current official price pages, dated announcements and account-specific checkout amounts, so an old promotion does not quietly become a “2026 price.”

What are the official Korean subscription prices now?

The table below records the public official pages checked on 2026-10-16. Monthly fees are direct web-plan prices where the page makes that basis clear, rather than a reseller quote or an app-store screenshot. Naver’s annual plan is labeled separately. Do not divide an annual payment by twelve and present the result as a cancellable monthly price: the commitment and refund conditions differ.

USD amounts use the Federal Reserve’s exchange-rate series as distributed by FRED: US$1 = ₩1,342.13 for 2026-10-09, the latest observation visible when checked. Divide the won amount by 1,342.13 and round to two decimals. These are reference conversions, not card settlement quotes, purchasing-power comparisons or forecasts. A dash means that no current comparable official price was confirmed, so there is no dollar number to calculate.

How much are YouTube Premium, Wow and delivery memberships?

For YouTube, the official Korean announcement dated 2026-01-30 states Premium at ₩14,900 and Premium Lite at ₩8,500 per month on web/Android. That is a dated official announcement, and it explains the difference in products; it is not treated here as a freshly readable checkout quote. The public Premium page did not expose a current price in our fetch. Confirm your account’s plan and billing route on the official purchase screen, including whether an iOS purchase has different terms.

Coupang’s official April 2024 announcement changed Wow to ₩7,890, while the public benefit purchase page was blocked during this check. Baemin’s official newsroom index lists the launch of Baemin Club Edition 2 on 2026-10-01, but a current official purchase-price page was not readable. Wavve’s voucher page likewise did not expose its standalone fees. Those services stay in the table as “check official checkout”; we do not promote a familiar historical fee, a media-reported price or a personalized trial into a verified current price. For a delivery membership, compare the eligible checkout total, not just the words “free delivery.”

What changed recently, and what is only a promotion?

A current fee does not establish when a price changed. The verified historical Wow announcement is a fee-change record, while YouTube’s January 2026 announcement documents the introduction of a different Lite product. Neither should be described as a new across-the-board increase in October 2026. We did not establish a complete official increase timeline for every provider, so this article does not invent one from price-comparison blogs.

TVING’s purchase page currently shows time-limited conditions dated 2026-10-06 to 2027-01-31 on several plans. That does not mean every displayed fee is itself a temporary discount: the conditions include service specifications as well. Read the plan’s notice before buying and again before renewal. A struck-through sum of separate services is also a comparison baseline, not necessarily what you previously paid. An introductory month, payment-card rebate and ongoing direct subscription need separate labels.

Compare what you will actually renew

For an annual plan, record the annual payment and refund conditions. For a trial, record the price after the trial. For a bundle, check which existing subscription you can stop.

Are Korean subscriptions cheaper than abroad?

For Netflix Standard, the official Korean page lists ₩13,500, about US$10.06 at the dated reference rate. The official US page lists US$19.99 before any applicable additional taxes. On that narrow comparison, the Korean published fee converts to less. It does not follow that every Korean service is cheaper, that the catalogs are identical, or that a traveler may choose whichever billing country has the lowest converted price.

The second comparison uses Disney+ Standard’s official local pages: Korea ₩9,900, Japan ¥1,250 and Taiwan NT$285 per month. Japan and Taiwan label their local prices as tax-inclusive. We leave yen and Taiwan-dollar amounts in their own currencies rather than using an undated second exchange rate. This is a two-service comparison with three overseas markets represented, not a world ranking. Matching current official plan details for Vietnam and Indonesia were not established here, so no guessed prices or savings percentages are added.

Which memberships overlap with things you already pay for?

A bundle can reduce the total only if you would otherwise buy the included plans and can use them on your account. Disney+ Korea lists Disney+ plus TVING at ₩18,000 and Disney+ plus TVING plus Wavve at ₩21,500 per month, with separate activation instructions. Compare the exact included tier with your existing tier; Premium and Standard are not interchangeable simply because both remove most advertising.

Naver Plus is a shopping membership with digital-content benefits whose selections and conditions can change. Before paying for a separate entertainment service, inspect the benefit already selected in your Naver account and any upgrade charge. Wow likewise spans shopping and other benefits, while sports can involve a separate offer. A claim that a service is “included” needs a tier, eligibility conditions and activation steps to be useful. Our companion OTT guide explains what the services carry; this guide is about which bill pays for the access.

What does a realistic sample monthly basket cost?

There is no national-average subscription figure in this guide: we did not confirm a suitable official statistic covering a Korean person’s monthly total across these memberships. Instead, the examples below are simple, reproducible baskets using prices confirmed on official pages. They are not a survey, and they do not imply that everyone in Korea uses these combinations.

Naver Plus monthly plus Netflix Standard with ads totals ₩11,900, about US$8.87. Naver Plus monthly plus the Disney+/TVING/Wavve Standard bundle totals ₩26,400, about US$19.67. These examples assume separate eligible purchases and no free digital benefit offset; check account benefits before copying either basket. The point is to make the arithmetic transparent. Your actual bill can be lower with an already included benefit, or higher with upgrades, extras or a different purchase route.

A sample basket is a calculation, not a national statistic. No average Korean monthly subscription bill is claimed here.

Can a visitor sign up at the Korean price?

Arriving in Seoul does not automatically turn an overseas subscription into a Korean-billed membership. The service may distinguish your viewing location, account country and payment method. Existing accounts should follow the operator’s travel or moving-country guidance, and domestic services may ask for supported Korean account verification. A foreign card being usable for one purchase does not establish eligibility for every recurring membership.

For a short stay, checking the service you already have is often the most useful first step. Open the title, check subtitles and confirm that your plan works in Korea before changing anything. For a semester or longer, confirm the cancellation route and payment-method requirements before starting an annual commitment. Use the official site or app; a cheap shared account offered by a stranger introduces a separate access and payment risk and may breach the service’s account rules.

How do you keep the bill under control?

Write down four things for each subscription: the billing provider, the next renewal date, the full recurring fee and the benefit you actually use. If an app store or telecom partner bills you, cancel through that provider’s route. Deleting an app is not a cancellation receipt. After canceling, keep the confirmation and check whether service ends immediately or at the paid period’s end under that plan’s terms.

When comparing a delivery or shopping membership, use your own likely purchases. A waived delivery fee does not remove food prices, minimum-order rules, distance conditions or menu differences. A shopping reward is not cash savings unless you would make that purchase anyway and can use the reward. Build the subscription list after rent, food and transport in your living-cost budget, and revisit it when your stay changes. A month with fewer planned programs may need fewer subscriptions, even when a bundle advertises a larger percentage discount.
