The short answer
- If walking to the hall is a must, the choices narrow to the Samseong Station area — 5 on this feed, USD 138.60–449.15
- The former InterContinental COEX closed in July 2024 and reopened as The Westin Seoul Parnas in September 2025 — old booking links will send you in circles
- Three budget tiers: USD 130–200 (Peyto, Shilla Stay, GLAD) when the corporate cap is low, the USD 300s (Oakwood) for a standard trip, and USD 449 (Grand InterContinental) for hosting executives and buyers
There’s a separate post on whether staying in Gangnam helps with sightseeing. This one removes all sightseeing math and works from the three days of someone attending a COEX exhibition or convention: walking to the booth in the morning, dining with buyers in the evening, opening a laptop at night. All rates are from the Klook affiliate feed, August 2026.
The change to know first — InterContinental COEX is gone
If it’s been a while since your last COEX trip, start here. InterContinental Seoul COEX, south of COEX, ended operations in July 2024 and, after renovation, reopened in September 2025 as The Westin Seoul Parnas. The operator is the same Parnas Hotel. Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, on the Samseong Station side, is a separate hotel and still running, so check which “InterContinental” your company’s booking system has saved. The Westin Seoul Parnas is not on this feed, so it’s left out of the rate comparison.
During show weeks, book 2–3 weeks ahead at the latest
Rates across the Samseong Station area rise together during COEX's big exhibitions. Book the room the moment your attendance is confirmed, and if the schedule might move, pick a free-cancellation rate — it ends up cheaper. The show calendar is on COEX's official site.
Walking routes — underground link, or crossing the street?
During a show, what you feel most isn’t the room — it’s the morning route. Oakwood is linked underground to COEX Mall, so you reach the hall without an umbrella. Grand InterContinental sits right above Samseong Station, a few minutes’ walk. The other three are walkable from the Samseong Station area but require surface walking. Exact walking times vary by which exit you leave from, so I’ve left specific minute counts out.

Oakwood Premier Coex Center — the residence linked underground to COEX Mall
Connected underground to COEX Mall, so no umbrella for the hall commute. It's a residence, so rooms have living facilities. Feed reference rate: USD 315.60 a night.
Prices and availability as of August 2026; vary by date and option. For a week or more, ask about a long-stay rate rather than the listed price.
One note on expenses. If your corporate card settlement requires a separate tax invoice or receipt, overseas-platform payments differ in format from Korea-issued documents. If company policy demands domestic documentation, check with accounting whether platform receipts are accepted before you book — it saves a headache later.
