The short answer
- Jamsil Arena is about 600 m from Sports Complex Station, Line 9 exit 9, and about 700 m from Line 2 exits 6 and 7 (per Seoul's official guide)
- The last Line 2 train from Sports Complex toward Hongdae leaves at 00:13 on weekdays and 23:12 on Saturdays and holidays — a full hour's difference
- The 12 hotels in this Klook feed range from USD 87.39 to USD 606.10, a 6.9× spread
When you’re picking a hotel near a concert venue, the numbers that actually matter aren’t star ratings. They’re the real distance from the station exit to the gate, and which trains are still running when the show lets out. This post pins both of them down against official sources.
Distances between stations and venues come straight from Seoul’s Sports Facilities Management Office, Olympic Park, and the Seoul Facilities Corporation. Last-train times were pulled from each station’s first/last-train timetable, split by line and direction. Anything I couldn’t confirm is marked “not confirmed” in the tables — no guessing. Hotel rates shift constantly with dates, occupancy, and cancellation terms; the figures below are the lowest displayed prices from the August 2026 feed.
Which station and exit is actually closest to each venue?
It varies by venue — and at the same station, picking the wrong exit can add 400 m to your walk. The figures below are what each operator lists in its official guide; walking times are converted at 80 m per minute.
🎤 Closest station and exit by venue, with walking-time conversion (official guides)
| Venue | Official closest station and exit | Official distance | Walk (80 m/min) |
|---|---|---|---|
| KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Arena) | Olympic Park Station (Lines 5 & 9), Exit 3 | No distance listed | Not confirmed |
| Jamsil Arena | Sports Complex Station (Line 9), Exit 9 | About 600 m | About 8 min |
| Jamsil Arena | Sports Complex Station (Line 2), Exits 6 & 7 | About 700 m | About 9 min |
| Olympic Main Stadium | Sports Complex Station (Line 2), Exits 6 & 7 | About 600 m | About 8 min |
| Olympic Main Stadium | Sports Complex Station (Line 9), Exit 9 | About 1,000 m | About 13 min |
| Gocheok Sky Dome | Guil Station (Line 1), Exit 2 | About 150 m | About 3 min |
400 m
Gap between the Line 2 and Line 9 exits for Olympic Main Stadium
3 min
Walk from Guil Station Exit 2 to Gocheok Sky Dome
20 min
Walk from Guro Station Exit 2 to Gocheok Sky Dome
Jamsil Arena and Olympic Main Stadium want opposite exits. For the arena, Line 9’s exit 9 is shorter; for the stadium, Line 2’s exits 6 and 7 are. Even though it’s the same Sports Complex Station, you’re better off switching lines depending on which venue you’re headed to.
Can you still catch the subway if the show ends at 22:00?
On weekdays you generally have breathing room. On Saturdays and holidays, it’s tight. If the show ends between 21:30 and 22:00 and clearing the crowd takes 20–30 minutes, you’ll pass the ticket gate around 22:20–22:30. Compare that against the last train in each direction and the picture splits.
🚇 Last trains by direction at stations near the venues (per-station timetables)
| Station & line | Direction (terminus) | Weekday last train | Sat & holiday last train |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sports Complex, Line 2 inner loop | Hongdae | 00:13 | 23:12 |
| Sports Complex, Line 2 inner loop | Euljiro-ipgu | 00:01 | 23:03 |
| Sports Complex, Line 2 outer loop | Seongsu (via Jamsil & Konkuk Univ.) | 00:46 | 23:46 |
| Sports Complex, Line 9 | Sinnonhyeon | 00:45 | 23:52 |
| Sports Complex, Line 9 | Gimpo Airport | 00:27 | 23:24 |
| Olympic Park, Line 5 (westbound) | Yeouido | 00:01 | No Yeouido-bound train |
| Olympic Park, Line 5 (westbound) | Banghwa | 23:27 | 22:42 |
| Jamsil, Line 8 (southbound) | Moran | 00:39 | 23:43 |
| Guil, Line 1 (northbound) | Cheongnyangni | 23:52 | No Cheongnyangni-bound train |
| Guil, Line 1 (northbound) | Kwangwoon University | 23:37 | 23:46 |
Here’s what the numbers say. If you reach the station at 22:30, people heading toward Jamsil, COEX, or Gangnam on a weekday have time to spare. Two situations cause trouble. First, on a Saturday or holiday, if you catch a KSPO DOME show and need Line 5 westbound (toward Magok and Gimpo Airport), the last Banghwa-bound train is 22:42 — leave even slightly late and you’ll miss it. Second, from Gocheok Sky Dome, if you need Line 1 toward Seoul Station and Jongno, the Cheongnyangni-bound train looks generous at 23:52 on weekdays, but after that only Guro-bound trains remain, and those run just one stop.
So a walkable hotel genuinely matters in two cases: when a weekend show forces you to travel west afterward, and when the encore runs long and the show ends past 22:00. Heading back to Jamsil or Gangnam on a weekday? There’s no reason to insist on being within walking distance of the venue.
300 m from Jamsil Station, with no luggage-dragging transfer
Per Klook's listing, it's 300 m and about a 5-minute walk from Jamsil Station. From there to Jamsil Arena, you take Line 2 past Jamsilsaenae Station and, two stops later, walk 600 m from exit 9 — even counting platform transfers and waiting, that works out to about 20 minutes. The reference rate in the feed is USD 268.55 per night.
Prices and availability as of August 2026; vary by date and option. For a weekday show heading back toward Gangnam or Jamsil, the last train leaves plenty of margin, so there's no reason to spend in this price range.
Sports Complex Station has two Line 2 "last trains"
On weekdays there's one more inner-loop train at 00:58, but it terminates at Samseong — a single stop away. For actually reaching downtown or Hongdae, treat the 00:13 train as your real last one.
Can you stay near Gocheok Sky Dome?
None of the 12 hotels in this dataset are within walking distance of Gocheok Sky Dome — the feed clusters around Jamsil, COEX, and downtown. So for a Gocheok show, it’s more realistic to plan around the Line 1 corridor than to hunt for a walkable hotel.
Per the Seoul Facilities Corporation, Guil Station Exit 2 is the shortest walk at 3 minutes, but the corporation itself suggests that people coming from Seoul or Suwon get off at Guro, and those from Incheon or Bucheon get off at Gaebong, to avoid the crowds. Guro is a 20-minute walk and Gaebong a 15-minute walk. In other words, Gocheok funnels everyone into a single exit — Guil Station — when the show lets out.
Gocheok shuttle packages aren't on sale right now
Round-trip shuttle packages for Gocheok Sky Dome concerts have appeared on booking platforms before, but as of this dataset they're sold out. Don't plan around a transport option that doesn't exist right now.
Which shows is the COEX area right for?
The COEX–Samseong area’s big advantage is sitting one stop from the Jamsil venues. Sports Complex and Samseong are neighboring stations on Line 2, so from a Samseong hotel to Jamsil Arena it’s basically one train ride plus a 600 m walk from Line 9 exit 9.
🏨 From the hotels in this dataset to the venue, using only confirmed figures
| Hotel | Confirmed location | Target venue | Travel estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lotte Hotel World | 300 m from Jamsil Station, about 5 min walk | Jamsil Arena | 2 stops on Line 2 + 8 min walk, about 20 min total |
| Hotel Peyto Samseong | About 5 min walk from Samseong Station Exit 5 | Jamsil Arena | 1 stop on Line 2 + 8 min walk, about 18 min total |
| SIGNIEL Seoul | Lotte World Tower floors 42–101, Jamsil Station (Lines 2 & 8) | Jamsil Arena | About 20 min from Jamsil Station |
| Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas | Samseong & Bongeunsa Stations, underground link to COEX | Venues inside COEX | On foot via the indoor passage |
| Hotel The Castle Jamsil | About 7 min walk from Mongchontoseong Station | KSPO DOME | Not confirmed |
To sum up: for Jamsil shows, walking distance to Jamsil Station wins; for COEX shows, walking distance to Samseong Station wins; and moving between the two is just one or two stops, so they substitute for each other. To cut the budget, a mid-range hotel by Samseong Station is often the better deal.
5 min from Samseong Station Exit 5, positioned between both areas
It's about a 5-minute walk from Samseong Station Exit 5, so COEX is walkable and the Jamsil venues are one Line 2 stop away. The reference rate in the feed is USD 138.60 per night — about a third of the luxury hotels' displayed prices in the same area.
Prices and availability as of August 2026; vary by date and option. If a hotel right at the venue door is the goal, note that Samseong is one stop away, so it doesn't meet the "walking distance" condition.
Where do the prices cluster?
The 12 hotels in this feed range from USD 87.39 to USD 606.10, making the priciest 6.9× the cheapest. The Jamsil area holds high-end anchors like Lotte World Tower and Lotte Hotel World alongside small and mid-size hotels in Bangi-dong, while the COEX area is thick with options around the USD 200 mark.
🏨 Displayed rates for hotels near the venues (August 2026 Klook feed)
| Hotel | Area | Nearest station | Rate (1 night) | Book |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SIGNIEL Seoul | Jamsil | Jamsil Station (Lines 2 & 8) | USD 606.10 | Klook |
| Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas by IHG | COEX | Samseong & Bongeunsa Stations | USD 449.15 | Klook |
| Oakwood Premier Coex Center | COEX | Not confirmed | USD 315.60 | Klook |
| NINE TREE BY PARNAS SEOUL MYEONDONG 2 | Myeongdong | Not confirmed | USD 219.45 | Klook |
| GLAD Gangnam COEX Center | COEX | Not confirmed | USD 196.59 | Klook |
| Shilla Stay Samsung COEX Center | COEX | Not confirmed | USD 192.15 | Klook |
| NINE TREE BY PARNAS SEOUL INSADONG | Insadong | Not confirmed | USD 190.95 | Klook |
| NINE TREE BY PARNAS SEOUL DONGDAEMUN | Dongdaemun | Not confirmed | USD 180.19 | Klook |
| NINE TREE BY PARNAS SEOUL MYEONDONG 1 | Myeongdong | Not confirmed | USD 176.09 | Klook |
The Myeongdong, Insadong, and Dongdaemun hotels aren’t walking distance from any venue. But if your next day’s plan is downtown sightseeing, their displayed prices sit below Jamsil’s high-end range. If your trip isn’t just “watch the show and leave,” these are a sensible choice too.
7 min from Mongchontoseong Station, the lowest price in this feed
Located in Bangi-dong, confirmed about a 7-minute walk from Mongchontoseong Station on Line 8. The reference rate in the feed is USD 87.39 per night — roughly a seventh of the area's top price (USD 606.10).
Prices and availability as of August 2026; vary by date and option. We couldn't confirm the walking time to the KSPO DOME main gate, so measure it on the map from the venue entrance yourself before deciding.
When you don’t need this area at all
Three cases. First, a weekday show heading back toward Gangnam, Jamsil, or Konkuk University: Sports Complex Station’s last train runs past midnight, so there’s no reason to pay extra for a walkable hotel. Second, if your next day is downtown sightseeing, Myeongdong and Insadong prices sit below Jamsil’s high-end range. Third, for a Gocheok show this dataset has no walkable hotels at all, so you’re better off searching along the Line 1 corridor separately.
There’s also a cheaper alternative. If the show wraps before 22:00 and you have no early-morning plans, check the trunk and late-night bus routes that run past midnight and pair them with a budget downtown hotel to cut your lodging bill sharply. The Jamsil Sports Complex stop is served by several buses including the all-night N13, so you don’t have to pick a walkable hotel just because of the subway’s last train.
