So I gathered rental prices around Jamsil and the terms on booking platforms, then worked out the per-hour rate and the full-day total myself. How Much Is a Full Day of Lotte World Uniform Rental?
A full-day basic set sits in the ₩12,000–20,000 band. The gap between the cheapest and priciest shops is ₩8,000 — and it has less to do with the quality of the clothes than with where the shop sits.

The two shops inside the park are the priciest at ₩20,000. That ₩8,000 premium is, in effect, the price of skipping the walk — buy your ticket and change right away. If it’s pouring rain or you’re hauling a suitcase, sure, pay it. Otherwise, a five-minute walk to a ₩12,000 shop is the sensible call.
Why these prices aren't the final amount
The prices in the table are basic sets — shirt, bottoms, and vest. The jacket look you see in so many photos is usually separate: at Lotte World Ehwa Uniform, a jacket is ₩5,000 and a bag ₩5,000, added on site. The deposit is ₩5,000 per set plus an ID (a passport for foreign visitors), refunded when you return everything.
Are the Shoot and Props Included in the Price?
In most cases, you’re renting the space, not a service. You get access to the classroom set and powder room — nothing more. A professional photographer who shoots and retouches your photos is a separate product entirely.

The Ehwa Uniform product comes in sizes XS through XXL, with English, Chinese, and Japanese support, and you can try on up to two sets. Cancellation is free until 24 hours before your activity date, but lateness and no-shows are not refunded. Overstay the rental and you’ll be charged ₩10,000 per extra day.
So the decision is simple. If you'll take the photos yourself, a uniform rental with a shooting space is all you need. If you want finished results, it's better to book the uniform rental and a studio shoot separately. Trying to solve both in a single product is what wrecks your budget the fastest.

You can pick 1-, 2-, or 3-day options, and there's no shooting-time limit in the classroom set. The listed price as of August 2026 is US$14.50 (about ₩20,300), with ₩5,000 extra on site if you want the jacket.
If you're visiting on a weekday morning and only want the basic set, a walk-in shop five minutes away in the ₩12,000 range is cheaper. On weekends and holidays, lines can stretch past an hour, which is when booking earns its keep. As of August 2026.
Per Hour, Is the Uniform Cheaper Than a Hanbok?
Yes — but here’s the catch. Hanbok is billed by the hour, while uniforms are all-day, so you have to put them on the same scale first. The math below assumes a traveler picks up the uniform in the morning and returns it in the evening, for a realistic 8 hours of wear.

On a per-hour basis alone, the uniform runs between one-quarter and one-half the cost of the 4-hour hanbok pass. The hanbok looks expensive per hour only because the 4-hour block is the standard unit — stretch it to a full day or an overnight rental and the gap narrows. How Much Does the Full-Day Total Differ?
Add nothing and the uniform is ₩8,000 cheaper. Add everything and it flips to ₩2,300 more. The lever here is a small one most people miss: a school uniform does not get you free palace admission.

Wear a hanbok and you can enter Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, and Jongmyo for free. With adult admission to Gyeongbokgung at ₩3,000, visiting two palaces doubles your savings. A uniform carries no such perk — so if palace-hopping is on your itinerary, the total-cost math can flip.
Two checks that prevent miscalculation
- The deposit isn't a cost — the ₩5,000 per set and your passport come back when you return everything. Many shops take cash only for it, though, so bring small bills.
- The locker is a cost — only about ₩1,000, but if you're dragging a suitcase, whether a shop stores luggage free matters more than the quality of the uniform.
What Else Can You Do After the Uniform?
Since a uniform rental only gives you the clothes and the space, anyone after finished results has to bolt on a product that includes shooting.
Studio shoot + hair & makeup
The type that includes a photographer and retouched files. Unlike a uniform rental, you walk away with a product.
Idol recording experience
Not a costume rental but the studio recording itself. Easy to tack on right after your uniform session.
Self photo booth
The cheapest finished product. You can walk in without a booking, though, so there's little reason to buy it as a package.
Step up to hair, makeup, and a studio shoot
Unlike a uniform rental, which only gives you the space, this type folds styling and a photographer into the fee. It's a different budget league from the ₩20,300 one-day uniform pass.
If smartphone photos will do, there's no reason to buy it. It only makes sense when you need retouched files — and you should check the options and time required on the product page. As of August 2026.
Record a song at a Seoul recording studio
Unlike a costume-rental experience, you leave with an audio file. Budget it as a separate line from the uniform's ₩13,000–31,300 daily spend.
If you only have one day, don't squeeze the uniform and recording into it together — travel and prep time will overlap. As of August 2026.
The self photo booth is a different story. The Gyeongbokgung self photo booth voucher in the source sheet may not be bookable right now, so I won’t treat it as a live product. These booths are usually pay-on-the-spot anyway, so buying a voucher in advance rarely pays off.
Can You Rent a Uniform Outside Seoul?
You can — though most options are bundled with hanbok rather than sold as a uniform-only product.
Pick a hanbok or uniform at one shop
Jeju doesn't have the dense cluster of uniform shops Seoul does, so packages typically bundle hanbok, uniform, and beauty experiences together. Check what's included before comparing it directly with Seoul's ₩12,000–20,000 full-day uniform rental.
If you've already worn a uniform or hanbok in Seoul, there's little reason to do it again in Jeju. As of August 2026.
When Should You Skip It?
When there's no reason to book
- You're visiting on a weekday morning and only want the basic set — the ₩12,000-something walk-in price beats the booking product, and there's no line at that hour anyway.
- You plan to visit two or more palaces — a uniform won't get you free entry, so the hanbok's effective cost drops below it.
- You only want smartphone photos — no need to buy anything with a photographer. A rental shop with a classroom set does the job.
- You're traveling light with short distances — the walk-in convenience of the ₩20,000 in-park shops loses its appeal.
Flip it around: if you’re renting several sets for a family on a weekend or holiday, booking is the better bet. Popular designs in specific sizes genuinely sell out by mid-morning, and there are clear windows when the fitting-room line drags.
