Need to leave a suitcase with an actual human in Hongdae? Maybe it won’t fit in a locker, maybe you’re juggling three bags and a shopping haul, maybe you just want the peace of mind that comes from handing your stuff to someone with a ticket system. Three staffed counters sit around Hongik University Station: TLUGGAGE, Jimcarry, and KPLANZ. Our team is based in Hongdae and checked prices and conditions in person. No sponsorships, no affiliate deals — just what we found.
The short answer
- Cheapest + takes reservations: KPLANZ
- Biggest and best known, but weekend queues: TLUGGAGE
- Right at the AREX concourse, but priciest and 3 PM drop-off cutoff: Jimcarry
How much does staffed luggage storage cost in Hongdae?
For the same 4-hour drop, here’s what each counter charges. (Size classes vary slightly between shops — check exact dimensions on each shop’s page.)
💰 Price comparison: 4-hour luggage storage at Hongik University Station (2026)
| Size | KPLANZ | TLUGGAGE | Jimcarry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small (~20”) | ₩2,500 wkday / ₩3,500 wknd | ₩3,000 / ₩4,000 | ₩5,000 |
| Medium (20–23”) | ₩3,500 / ₩5,500 | ₩4,000 / ₩6,000 | ₩8,000 |
| Large (23–27”) | ₩5,000 / ₩8,000 | ₩6,000 / ₩9,000 | ₩8,000–10,000 |
| XL (27”+) | ₩8,000 / ₩12,000 | ₩9,000 / ₩13,000 | ₩10,000 |
All three charge extra per hour after your time is up. Jimcarry charges the same rate on weekdays and weekends and measures size in cm (55/70 cm).
Bottom line: KPLANZ is the cheapest in every size class, TLUGGAGE sits in the middle, and Jimcarry is the most expensive — and KPLANZ takes another 10% off with a site coupon.
TLUGGAGE — biggest name, longest lines
TLUGGAGE is the storage counter everyone in Hongdae knows. It’s the largest, the most established, and the one with the widest range of size options. Reliability isn’t the issue. The issue is that everyone knows it — on weekends and in peak season, expect queues both dropping off and picking up. Payment is card only, and as far as we could determine, there’s no way to reserve a spot in advance. You show up and you wait.
Jimcarry — at the AREX concourse, at a price
Jimcarry sits right at the airport railroad concourse. If your only priority is walking the shortest possible distance from storage to train, this is your pick — it’s unbeatable on that front. The trade-offs stack up fast, though: it’s the most expensive of the three, and drop-off closes at 3 PM, which is a genuine problem if you’re arriving in the afternoon hoping to stash bags before exploring. Card only.
KPLANZ — cheapest, reservable, open late
KPLANZ undercuts both competitors on price and layers on features the others simply don’t offer:
- Advance reservations. On concert weekends and during peak season, you’re guaranteed a spot — neither TLUGGAGE nor Jimcarry does this.
- Underground connection to exit 3 (Line 2, AREX, Gyeongui–Jungang), so you can drop bags and walk straight to your train.
- Card and cash both accepted.
- Flexible closing — opens at 10 AM and stays open toward midnight when reservations or stored bags remain, which matters for late flights.
- 10% site coupon.
The one catch: it opens at 10 AM, latest of the three. For an early-morning drop-off, station lockers are the better play.
So which one should you pick?
- Price, certainty, reservations → KPLANZ, especially for peak season, groups, or late-night pickup.
- Willing to pay more for direct AREX access → Jimcarry (just accept the price and the 3 PM cutoff).
- Just want the biggest, most established name → TLUGGAGE (and the weekend line that comes with it).
Any of the three solves the “it doesn’t fit in a locker” problem. For the full map of every locker and counter in Hongdae — filterable by distance, price and size — see Hongdae Luggage.
